FCC votes to enforce net neutrality by regulating ISPs, unleashes municipal broadband

The Federal Communications Commission on Wednesday voted to regulate internet service providers as "common carriers" under the Communications Act, preventing those companies from creating so-called "internet fast lanes," and at the same time effectively neutered laws that impeded the expansion of city-owned broadband networks.
